Liverpool won’t want to lose Mohamed Salah, but there are increased fears that the Egyptian could end up leaving Anfield in the near future.

Salah has smashed 123 goals and 45 assists in 198 games since joining Liverpool from Roma in 2017, becoming a modern day Reds hero.

Salah still has two years left on his Liverpool deal, but he turns 29 this summer, and there may be a temptation to cash in whilst he still has massive value in the transfer market.

A report from The Athletic even suggested that Salah has been left concerned by early indications that Liverpool may not see him as part of their long-term future.

Now, Bild have added to the notion that Salah could leave by reporting that Liverpool have already picked out a potential replacement – Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho.

They state that Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of Sancho, believing that he is a difference-maker right now whilst also having a huge future ahead of him given that he is still only 21.

Bild believe that selling Salah would give Liverpool the funds to go and land Sancho, slotting the England international onto the right flank in Salah’s place – a transfer plan that does have all the hallmarks of a Michael Edwards classic.

Liverpool players won’t want to see Salah go, but if anyone would be buzzing about the potential arrival of Sancho, it would likely be Reds full back Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Alexander-Arnold noted to Wingmen in November that Sancho is his best friend in the England setup, and he also suggested to Michael Dapaah last year that he would love to see Sancho at Liverpool because he is a ‘special, special, special, special talent’.

Alexander-Arnold has surely loved playing with Salah, but the idea of him rampaging up the right flank in tandem with Sancho is one that will not only excite Liverpool fans but also Alexander-Arnold himself.

The duo clearly have a great connection as friends, and this new rumour presents the possibility of them joining forces for years to come at Anfield.

Let’s see if Liverpool can pull it off, as signing Sancho won’t be easy, but landing him could lock down Liverpool’s right side for the next 10 years if they get this right.
