According to a report by The Athletic, Mohamed Salah isn’t keen to push for a move away from Liverpool, but he’s concerned about the early indications he’s gotten about his future at the club.
The Egyptian has long been linked with a move to one of Spain’s top clubs, and he’s made no secret about his desire to play in La Liga before his career is over.
However, the report claims that Salah isn’t keen to move away, but he’s worried that Liverpool may see things another way.
‘Salah is not determined to push through a move to another club. But he is also concerned by early indications from Liverpool that suggest they might see the future differently,’ Simon Hughes’ article states.
It’s hard to imagine that Liverpool would want to get rid of Salah, but with the attacker turning 29 soon, it may be now or never in terms of cashing in on him.
Salah’s concerns reportedly stem from the fact that he’s not been offered leading wages on a new contract.
Salah has certainly earnt the right to be one of the highest earners in world football, but with Liverpool operating on a large, but sensible, wage structure, you have to wonder whether or not they’re willing to offer him what he wants.
These ‘early indications’ that are mentioned in the article seem to suggest that Liverpool aren’t eager to match Salah’s demands, and with the likes of PSG reportedly interested in moving for him this summer, it’s not insane to suggest that he may move on.
