Speaking on The Done Deal Show, Dean Jones has been discussing Konrad Laimer’s future amid some links to Liverpool.
The Austrian midfielder is entering the final year of his RB Leipzig contract, and with his proposed move to Bayern Munich stalling, the Reds could swoop.
Of course, with Laimer being so strongly linked to Bayern, it would be fair to assume that the midfielder is settled in Germany and would like to stay in the Bundesliga, but according to Jones, the player is very much open to a move to the Premier League.

Jones spoke about Laimer being up for a move to England.
“By the way, going back to Liverpool, The other name that is a potential as a midfielder is Konrad Laimer, and I know he has been touted, he’s a reasonably-priced option, he’s open to a move to the Premier League, he’s played at RB Leipzig, he fits the profile of player that Liverpool sign in moments like this. He’s one I could see coming along if they were doing something like that. It’s one to keep an eye on before we move on from Liverpool,” Jones said.
Solves problems
The more you think about it, a move for Konrad Laimer would make so much sense for Liverpool.
The RB Leipzig ace is not only a brilliant depth option in the midfield, he’d also probably be the Reds’ second-best right-back. After all, he has played that role on numerous occasions for Leipzig over the years.
For all of Liverpool’s strength in depth, they really don’t have much behind Trent Alexander-Arnold, so they would have a real issue if the Englishman was injured.
Laimer could kill two birds with one stone if he joined Jurgen Klopp’s side.
