Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are interested in RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer, a player Ralf Rangnick recommended to Manchester United earlier this year, according to 90min.

90min have reported that Liverpool are looking to make a late addition to their midfield department before the summer transfer window closes next week.

One of the players that the Liverpool scouting department has identified is RB Leipzig midfielder Laimer, according to the report.

Scouting reports on the Austria international midfielder have been positive, according to 90min, who have added that despite their interest in him, Liverpool may not actually actively pursue him.

The report has claimed that Ralf Rangnick recommended Laimer as an option to Manchester United earlier this year, adding that the 25-year-old wants to move to Bayern Munich, who themselves are keen on securing his services.

Could a transfer happen?

90min have reported that Konrad Laimer is focused on a move to Bayern Munich either in this window or as a free agent next summer.

Now, that may sound bad for Liverpool, but if the Reds really start thinking about signing him and do make an approach, then the Austrian midfielder could change his mind.

After all, Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in the world who regularly win major trophies.

That Rangnick recommended the midfielder to Manchester United indicates that he thinks that the Austrian would be able to cope with the Premier League, and it is encouraging for Liverpool.
