Giovanni Carnevali has offered Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur hope of signing Sassuolo forward Domenico Berardi after rubbishing speculation of a move to AC Milan.
The Sassuolo CEO confirmed, via quotes by TuttoMercatoWEB, that his Serie A outfit have not held any talks with Milan. He added that the Rossoneri are unlikely to be able to afford a deal for the Italy winger this summer.
Instead, Carnevali suggested that only clubs from abroad had contacted Sassuolo to discuss a deal for Berardi. Corriere dello Sport had claimed Milan were keen to sign the Euro 2020 star after qualifying for the Champions League.

But it was noted that it would be difficult for Milan to sign Berardi with Leicester leading the charge. Also, Gazzetta dello Sport quoted a €50m (£43m) asking price amid interest from Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United, while citing Liverpool in their print edition.
Carnevali has now offered the English quartet hope of a deal for the winger this summer. Clearing Milan from the path Arsenal, Tottenham or Liverpool must face for Berardi.
“No, we never talked,” Carnevali confirmed. “To date, also for the economic situation, the only requests are from abroad.”
Carnevali offers Arsenal and Liverpool hope of Berardi deal
Carnevali’s comments on Milan not being in the race to sign Berardi will offer Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and Leicester hope of a move. Manchester United are unlikely to join the battle, though, having agreed a £73m deal with Borussia Dortmund for Jadon Sancho.
The English clubs will take great comfort in Milan not being able to afford the £61,000-per-week Sassuolo sensation. Berardi has offered two assists at Euro 2020 to help guide Italy into a quarter-final tie with Belgium on Friday.
Berardi also performed incredibly well in the Serie A last season with 17 goals and eight assists as Sassuolo’s captain. But with a contract through to 2024 and interest from several sides, the Mapei Stadium side will be able to hold firm in their asking price.
