One year ago, Leeds United fans were growing increasingly worried by Adam Forshaw’s injury situation as the midfielder’s continued absence from the squad remained unexplained.

The former Middlesbrough man picked up a suspected hip injury against Charlton last October, and by November, fans were wondering what was wrong with him.

Fans were concerned that his problem was keeping him out for longer than expected, while one supporter joked that he would miss any potential playoff campaign, albeit this was a very tongue-in-cheek comment.

Unfortunately, those jokes quickly became a sad reality.

Forshaw has still not played a minute of football since going down against Charlton last year, he’s not been seen in the U23s or the senior team, and while he had surgery way back in February, eight months later, he’s still not looking any closer to full fitness.

This begs the question, what on earth is happening with Forshaw? His injury wasn’t supposed to be that serious, hence why fans were questioning where he was after a month, but here we are over a year later, and he’s still nowhere to be seen.

It’s a complete and utter mystery, Forshaw’s official diagnosis has never been disclosed, and while hip injuries can be a real pain, for a player to be kept out for over a year with a hip problem is almost unheard of.

We can’t help but feel sympathetic towards Forshaw, and we can’t imagine how he’s felt during this time, but the fact that we haven’t had any answers on what has actually been wrong with him is slightly worrying.

We can only hope that he’s back fit soon and that this situation is finally resolved over a year after Leeds fans were fretting about it.
