David Ornstein has said on NBC Sports that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal could make a move for Brighton and Hove Albion winger Leandro Trossard in the January transfer window after missing out on Mykhailo Mudryk to Graham Potter’s Chelsea.

The Athletic journalist has said that Trossard to Arsenal might be “one to watch”, as the Gunners step up their bid to bring in a winger this month.

As reported by Sky Sports, Arsenal were keen on signing Mudryk, but the 22-year-old Ukraine international winger moved to Premier League rivals Chelsea instead.

TalkSPORT, have reported that Arsenal are interested in Trossard, and so have 90min.

The 28-year-old Belgium international has reportedly fallen out with Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi and has flown to Brussels.

The winger wants to leave the Seagulls in the January transfer window.

Ornstein said: “You have also seen Leandro Trossard of Brighton and Hove Albion linked. He very publicly has fallen out of favour at the club. So that might be one to watch, but I don’t know about active movements as things stand.”

Could a January transfer happen?

In our view, if Arsenal are determined to sign Leandro Trossard in the January transfer window, then they will be able to get a deal done with Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion.

Brighton will surely not want to keep Trossard against his will and will be happy to move him on for a good transfer fee.

Now, of course, Arsenal will have to make a good offer, but remember, they do have the money they were willing to spend on Mudryk.
