‘One of the top players’: Jude Bellingham wowed by attacker Liverpool want

Jude Bellingham says Liverpool transfer target, Kylian Mbappe, is ‘one of the top players’ in the world ahead of England’s World Cup showdown with France on Saturday.

In one corner, England will have their rising 19-year-old star looking to elevate his status even further, whilst Mbappe, who already has five goals to his name in Qatar, will be aiming to down a Gareth Southgate side that wants to make it to back-to-back semi-finals on football’s biggest stage.

There are many talented stars at the World Cup, but Mbappe and Bellingham might just be two of the best.

England and France fans will feel, if either of their star men clicks for their quarter-final showdown, then a place in the last four awaits.

But, until then, Bellingham spoke highly of the PSG superstar to beIN SPORTS, who guided France to the 2018 World Cup when he was a teenager himself.

“I don’t know if it’s just me and him going toe-to-toe,” said Bellingham. “We have many really good attacking players who will probably take all the limelight, as they should.

“For me, it’s just about playing my role in the team and playing my game. Mbappe’s a brilliant player. One of the top two or three or one in the world.

“To test myself, and the rest of France’s quality players, will be a pleasure and we are looking forward to the game.”

LIVERPOOL’S INTEREST IN BELLINGHAM AND MBAPPE

Even the most ardent of Liverpool supporters, who could go to football dreamland will know that they would never get both of those players through their doors.

But if they had to choose one, who would they pick?

It wasn’t so long ago, that reports were emerging that Mbappe, who signed a new PSG contract in the summer, isn’t happy in Paris and he wants to leave in January.

Whilst Manchester City have Erling Haaland on the table, if the Reds ever managed to sign Mbappe, then it would blow that deal out of the water.

But, the most realistic one is Bellingham given that he is at Borussia Dortmund and he won’t be on ridiculous wages – his recent link-up with Jordan Henderson is just making Liverpool fans purr even more.
