Ruben Neves has claimed that Liverpool transfer target, Matheus Nunes, is ‘one of the fastest midfielders’ he has played alongside as he was reacting to his Wolves teammate’s FIFA 23 card.

The next edition of FIFA is set to be released on September 27 and Nunes has been handed a 79 rating card, with 82 pace, following his summer move from Sporting Lisbon to Wolves.

Neves plays alongside Nunes at both club and international level now and he told Wolves’ official YouTube account that the midfielder should have ‘a little bit more’ pace.

Well, despite Wolves signing Nunes this summer, there was talk that Liverpool also wanted to sign the 24-year-old during the 2022 summer transfer window.

Despite the all-action midfielder heading to Molineux, there are rumours that the Reds are still going to target the midfielder for the 2023 summer transfer window.

Nonetheless, with the release of FIFA 23 around the corner, Neves was reacting to Nunes’ cards and he wasn’t happy with the rating that has been handed to his teammate.

“This should be a little bit more (on Nunes’ 79 FIFA 23 rating),” said Neves. “I said when you came here that you were one of the fastest midfielders I have ever played with.

“I think it should be a little bit more, it’s not fair (Neves on Nunes being handed 82 pace on his FIFA 23 card). It should be more.

“It’s a good card, next season you will be more in the 80s.”

WHO WILL LIVERPOOL SIGN?

The midfield department was a big talking point on Merseyside during the summer and Jurgen Klopp had to make a U-turn before the window closed.

After claiming that his team didn’t need another midfielder, he proceeded to change his mind and secure the loan talents of Arthur Melo on deadline day.

It was a clear panic buy and not Liverpool’s first choice, or else they would have brought him in a lot earlier.

But saying that, it’s pretty clear that the Reds will go all in for a midfielder or midfielders next summer, it’s just a case of who they will target and will Wolves worry about possibly losing Nunes?
