Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang made his 150th appearance for Arsenal this week, and the striker capped the occasion with a special performance.
The Gabon attacker bagged a hat-trick against West Bromwich Albion in a 6-0 win over the Championship side in the League Cup. It was the first goals Aubameyang had scored in the 2021/22 season.
Indeed, it was a much-needed performance for the Gunners following an awful start to the season. Arsenal sit 19th in the Premier League table after 2-0 losses to both Brentford and Chelsea.
With Aubameyang being diagnosed with COVID-19, the striker was unable to start either game, with the attacker returning off the bench against Chelsea last weekend.
Yet the forward looked like his brilliant best in Arsenal’s demolition job over West Brom in the League Cup. And in doing so, Aubameyang placed himself in club history.
As well as being the latest member of the 150 club, the striker took his goal tally to 88 in total for Arsenal. To put it in perspective, both Theirry Henry and Alexis Sanchez had less goals for the Gunners after the same number of appearances.

And on social media, fans were astonished by how productive Aubameyang had been for the club since arriving in January 2018.
