Borussia Dortmund have agreed a £14 million deal to sign Gregor Kobel one day after Tottenham Hotspur were linked with the Stuttgart goalkeeper, as reported by BILD.
As Spurs continue to bounce from manager to manager, their pursuit of Jose Mourinho’s successor hitting more hurdles than a Shetland pony at the Grand National, a long-running search for a goalkeeper isn’t going to plan either.
The Premier League giants have already seen Mike Maignan – their first-choice pick to replace Hugo Lloris – join AC Milan.
And, just 24 hours after Kicker reported Spurs were keen on Kobel too, the former Switzerland U21 international is packing his bags and heading to Signal Iduna Park.
Kobel will be standing tall in front of Dortmund’s yellow wall next season.

BILD reports a deal is all but done, with BVB paying £14 million to make the cat-like 24-year-old their first signing of the Marco Rose era.
Kobel, who is expected to ink a long-term contract worth about £60,000 a week, will be expected to challenge compatriots Marwin Hitz and Roman Burki for a starting place at Dortmund next season.
The one-time Augsburg youngster shot to fame with a stirring performance against RB Leipzig in January, leaving Julian Nagelsmann open-mouthed after he somehow managed to volley an Emil Forsberg penalty on to the bar.
