Kagisho Dikgacoi has taken to Twitter to throw his name in the hat as a potential replacement for Roy Hodgson at Crystal Palace.

What’s the story?

Well, the 36-year-old was asked by a Crystal Palace fan if he fancies being the next manager to roam the Selhurst Park dugout.

In response, the South African said he’d be on the first flight back to London to replace the 73-year-old.

You can see what Dikgacoi tweeted below.

Hopefully he’s joking, because the former Crystal Palace No.8 has absolutely no coaching experience whatsoever, as far as we’re concerned!

In fairness, at least he knows the club. Dikgacoi made 114 appearances for the Eagles, scoring eight goals and providing five assists.

He played a crucial role in the 2012/13 promotion campaign, and is still a firm fan favourite in SE25.

Who will it be?

With the south Londoners set to welcome just ten – yes, ten – first-team players back for pre-season on July 5th, Crystal Palace need a manager in quickly.

So, who will it be?

Well, The Sun claim that Crystal Palace have made a move for Steve Cooper, who lost the Play-Off final with Swansea last season.

Elsewhere, London News Online believe Frank Lampard is now back in the running to replace Hodgson.

Additionally, The Athletic mentioned Javi Gracia – the ex-Watford boss – as someone who Crystal Palace have considered.

In truth, it doesn’t sound like there’s an outright frontrunner for the vacancy right now, after Lucien Favre’s dramatic U-turn.
