According to The Sun, Crystal Palace have made a move for Swansea boss Steve Cooper, after Lucien Favre’s shocking U-turn.
What’s the story?
Well, Steve Parish has been forced to think on his feet after Favre decided he didn’t want a return to management, despite agreeing a contract.
Now, it seems the Crystal Palace supremo has set his sights on Cooper, who has been strongly linked with the vacancy at Selhurst Park.
The Sun believe it will take £3m in compensation to bring the 41-year-old to south London.
Cooper – who The Sun describe as being in-demand – led Swansea to the Play-Off final last season, where they were beaten 2-0 by Brentford.
Fulham have also expressed interest in the England Under-17 World Cup winning coach, but the Cottagers baulked at the £3m fee.
Andros Townsend’s comments on Steve Cooper

Now a regular feature on talkSPORT, Andros Townsend has been providing some fascinating insight into Crystal Palace recently.
Yesterday, the winger was quizzed on Favre’s U-turn, and was then asked about Cooper – he only spoke positively about the Welshman.
Interestingly, Crystal Palace’s No.10 admitted that Jordan Ayew is a fan of Cooper, after hearing good things from his brother at Swansea, Andre Ayew.

Speaking about the manager with 100 career wins, Townsend said: “We have Jordan Ayew, who’s brother plays for Swansea with Steve Cooper, he’s said nothing but good things about him.
“Good things are coming out the dressing room [about Cooper]. It’s one of those – you suss out a manager in the first two weeks.”
While Cooper might seem an underwhelming appointment when compared to Favre, it’s encouraging to hear these comments from Townsend.
