Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur could be about to sign former Arsenal prospect Ollie Tanner in the January transfer window, according to The Athletic.

The Athletic are reporting this morning (11am, January 28, 2022) that Tottenham made a bid for Tanner to his Non-League club Lewes.

Lewes, who are in Isthmian League premier division, have accepted the offer from Tottenham.

And, according to the report, it is to up to the 19-year-old winger to make a decision on his future now.

Lewes had turned down a nominal offer for the teenager from Tottenham’s Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion, according to The Athletic.

Ollie Tanner should join Tottenham Hotspur

In our view, Tanners should move to Tottenham from Lewes.

This is a brilliant opportunity for the winger, and he has to take it.

Yes, we know that the teenager is a former Arsenal academy player.

But Tanner was also at Charlton Athletic and Bromley as a youngster.

Tottenham are a massive club who have a strong academy system, and Tanner would receiver very good coaching at the North London club.

Now, of course, we do not predict the teenage winger to go straight into the Tottenham first team, but if he does well in the youth set-up, then he could get chance in due time.
