Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club tweeted a video of the new pitch being laid at Elland Road, ahead of tonight’s clash with Everton.

There were issues with the turf during the 1-0 defeat to Brighton recently, in which the grass became boggy and began to chop up easily as well.

Patrick Bamford and a few other Leeds players even complained amongst themselves about the state of the pitch after full-time, as he revealed on the official Leeds United Podcast.

In response to this, Leeds purchased a pitch from Tottenham for £300,000, and set about installing it as soon as possible.

Impressively, the Yorkshire-based outfit have already sorted the issue.

The club’s tweet shows a video of the installation process, and it has gone down a treat with the Leeds supporters on Twitter.

They have every right to be delighted.

It may not seem like a big deal.

However, Marcelo Bielsa’s style of play requires a smooth, zippy surface, which the old pitch simply wasn’t.

If the new turf can help Leeds play their football to greater effect, then it will have been the best £300,000 spent by the club in a long time.

Let’s see what the Leeds fans on Twitter have been saying about it…
