Brentford manager Thomas Frank has boldly said that he would not swap Newcastle United-linked goalscorer Ivan Toney for Erling Haaland.
In April, it was reported that Eddie Howe’s side were having internal discussions over making a summer move for the England international.
As many clubs, including Newcastle United seemingly ready a bid for Ivan Toney, Thomas Frank has said he would not take Erling Haaland for his star striker.

Another claim was made on Monday that the former Magpies striker was keen on returning to St. James’ Park ahead of next season.
The 27-year-old is enjoying a champagne campaign, hitting an impressive 20 goals in the Premier League for Brentford.
When Thomas Frank was quizzed about whether he would swap Newcastle-linked frontman Ivan Toney for Erling Haaland, he responded by saying, “Of course not.”

“If Ivan was playing in a top four club, he would score 25-plus goals. I’m convinced about that. I’m very happy he is playing for us and not another club and I think it is remarkable what he has done”, he said, as quoted by the Evening Standard.
HITC View: The perfect Newcastle No.9 signing
Whether one agrees with Thomas Frank about his unpopular opinion regarding Ivan Toney and Erling Haaland, what can be agreed upon is the fact that the former would be a sensational coup for Newcastle.
Of course, it goes without saying that the expert target man would find it a challenge to usurp Alexander Isak, who has been unplayable since the World Cup.
However, Toney is clearly accustomed to playing in a setup that focuses on maximising in transition situations.
To go on and replicate his output for a much superior side in Newcastle would be a cakewalk for the Englishman, who is so much more than just a No.9 anyway.
In a team that is full to the brim with physical monsters, Ivan Toney’s addition would allow the Magpies to bully oppositions even more as he brings his teammates into play during swift counter-attacks.
