Stoke City sacked Mark Hughes on Saturday.
Quique Sanchez Flores has emerged as third favourite to become the next Stoke City manager with Sky Bet.
The Espanyol boss was listed among the outsiders for the role, which was vacated by Mark Hughes on Saturday, on Tuesday lunchtime.
But his odds have tumbled to 10/1 in a matter of hours, putting him behind only Martin O’Neill (6/4) and Slaven Bilic (4/7).
The Sun reported on Tuesday that Bilic was Stoke’s number one choice to succeed Hughes, but according to the Stoke Sentinel the former West Ham United manager was never a contender.
Flores spent a season as Watford’s manager, leading the Hornets to 13th place in their first campaign back in the top flight, before returning to Spain with Espanyol.
The 52-year-old led the Catalan side to eighth in La Liga last term, although they are currently 14th in the standings.
After Flores, Ostersunds FK boss Graham Potter is the next highest placed on Sky Bet’s list of potential Stoke candidates, at 20/1.
