Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo spoke exclusively to the Express & Star, and opened up on the message that he has given his squad, ahead of the hectic festive period that awaits them over the coming weeks.

The Black Country outfit have been magnificent this season, and currently sit comfortably at the top of the Championship table, four points clear of second placed Cardiff City.

The Portuguese deserves great credit, not only for his impressive player recruitment in the summer, but also for the manner in which he has transformed what was a squad of underperforming players into a more together, unified group.

Nuno’s side are many fans’ and pundits’ tips to win the title this season, and if they can emerge from the Christmas period unscathed, they will be in a great position to do just that.

The 43-year-old is taking nothing for granted though, and told the Express & Star the instructions he has given his players in the week leading up to their home game against Ipswich Town on Saturday:

“It’s going to be tough. Now it’s the moment to rest, that’s what I told the boys, stay home, get back the power and the strength of what family gives you. It’s going to require a lot – but we are ready.”

Wolves will be desperate for a win over the Tractor Boys on Saturday, as they look to kick off their festive fixtures with a bang, and it would take a brave man to bet against them doing just that.
