Arsenal academy director Per Mertesacker has voiced his support on KSE continuing to financially back the squad.
In an interview with the Beautiful Game Podcast, the key Gunners official claimed that Stan and Josh Kroenke have never been more supportive of Arsenal as they have been in recent windows.
Arsenal’s American owners have famously been fairly absent since they took full ownership of the club. The north London side have largely funded themselves through matchday revenue and player sales.
However, the past few windows have seen KSE throw their support behind Arsenal. The Gunners spent the most out of any side in Europe this summer. And the club’s owners were the key financial instigators behind the signing of Thomas Partey last year.
And Mertesacker is confident that the Kroenke’s will continue to financially support the club. The former German international said: “The owners are more engaged than ever. They want to provide more to the public and the fans.
“They want to be seen more, and I think that’s going to be welcome. And they have been in close contact with me, as well. Now’s the time to get on board and trust the process.”

Indeed, the idea of the Kroenke’s continuing to back Arsenal sounds like a revolutionary concept. You can argue that the Gunners have the most distant owners out of any of the big sides in the Premier League.
But with Mertesacker claiming some big things about Arsenal’s ownership, KSE will likely continue to financially aid the Gunners in the coming transfer windows.
