The Benfica striker is now in Spain with his agent and is ready to fly to Merseyside once Liverpool and Benfica sign the contracts.

Romano has added that Nunez could fly to Liverpool tomorrow, suggesting that a transfer is imminent.

Darwin Nunez to Liverpool is imminent

In our view, it is only a matter of time before Darwin Nunez officially becomes a Liverpool player.

Manchester United had been interested in the Uruguay international, but the player only wanted to move to Liverpool.

We have covered reports claiming that Liverpool sporting director Julian Ward is personally trying to get a deal done.

In our opinion, Liverpool fans need not worry about any late twist regarding Nunez.

The striker scored 26 goals and gave four assists in 24 Portuguese league starts and scored six goals in six Champions League starts for Benfica this past season.
