HITC understands that Nottingham Forest are progressing in talks to sign CD Talleres winger Ramon Sosa this summer.

Nottingham Forest have been busy in the summer transfer window as Nuno Espirito Santo wants to guide the East Midlands club clear of relegation trouble this season.

Forest signed Newcastle United’s Elliot Anderson, Nikola Milenkovic and Jota Silva, who has been compared to Jack Grealish due to the Portuguese star looking like the Englishman.

HITC understands that Forest are not done there this summer and it is our understanding that they are progressing in their attempts to sign Paraguayan winger Ramon Sosa.

Forest progressing with Ramon Sosa deal

Ramon Sosa had been training alone at Talleres with the winger keen on moving to the Premier League and Forest, in particular.

HITC revealed Forest’s initial interest in Sosa back in July and their interest has remained in the 24-year-old who performed very well for the South American side this summer.

Now, sources have told HITC that Forest are progressing in talks to land the winger from Talleres with the hope that the signing will be completed.

Forest’s plan this summer was to bring in two wingers and they brought in Portuguese wide-man Silva and they have been looking at other options.

They looked at several options including Sosa as well as Galeno from Portugal, but now the Paraguayan is emerging as their main target.

Sosa has been desperate to move to the Premier League

Talleres coach Walter Ribonetto, meanwhile, has made no secret of the fact he expects Sosa to leave this summer.

“My team and I spoke to Ramon every day,” Ribonetto told Ole. “We told him that we needed him. We did everything possible to keep him here. We want the best for him but it is his decision (to leave) and we respect it.”

Sosa has been desperate to seal a move to England this summer, and has also been looked at by Wolves, but HITC understands a deal with Brazilian club Talleres is now close to being finalised.

The Paraguayan winger made 21 appearances in all competitions for the South American side and Sosa scored seven goals and provided six assists and a move to the Premier League could be on the horizon.
