That, Nottingham Forest fans, is the sound of a breakthrough.
Just last week, a deal that appeared inevitable towards the end of July looked in danger of falling through.
Nottingham Forest had held talks about bringing Ramon Sosa to the City Ground from CA Talleres.
But after being accused of attempting to change the make-up of the deal late on in discussions with the Argentine outfit, Talleres president Andres Fassi said that any plans he had to travel to England and finalise a deal had been put on the backburner.
Fortunately, with Forest’s Premier League opener at home to AFC Bournemouth now only a few days away, things are moving forward again.
Sosa has been training on his own recently. La Voz say that that he is doing solo work away from the rest of the squad due to concerns than an injury would scupper any hopes of a deal being done before the September deadline.
A deal that now appears to be imminent at last.
The Telegraph report that Nottingham Forest are finally closing in. Paraguay international Sosa is expected to cost £11 million, quite a bit less than the fees that had been floated in other sections of the media.

Nottingham Forest close in on Talleres star Ramon Sosa
Talleres coach Walter Ribonetto, meanwhile, has made no secret of the fact he expects Sosa to leave this summer.
The one-time Chelsea and Everton target – interest of both clubs was confirmed by his agent – will be left out of the Talleres squad for the Copa Libertadores clash with River Plate on Thursday.
“My team and I spoke to Ramon every day,” Ribonetto tells Ole. “We told him that we needed him. We did everything possible to keep him here. We want the best for him but it is his decision (to leave) and we respect it.
“Ramon will not be part of the list or the squad while waiting for his situation to be resolved.
“We asked him (to stay). We told him that we love him very much, that it would help us a lot to have him, that we need him. We have already done everything possible.”
Ribonetto feels that Sosa is not going to change his mind either. Not with Nottingham Forest finally closing in on a deal they have been working on for a number of weeks.
Capped 14 times by his country, Sosa scored seven goals and set up six more in his final 21 outings for Talleres.
Nuno Espirito Santo wants a striker
Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo, meanwhile, has made no secret of his desire to add a centre-forward to his squad. A striker capable of making good use of the ammunition provided by the incoming Ramon Sosa, new arrival Jota Silva, Anthony Elanga and Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Nuno reportedly wants a younger and versatile option alongside veteran Chris Wood and the talented but injury-prone Taiwo Awoniyi.
“We need options,” Nuno says, via The Telegraph. “It is clear that we have more balance in the squad but there are still positions that we have to pick.”
Forest continue to be linked with Feyenoord hitman Santiago Gimenez. Tottenham were keen but turned their focus to Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke.
