Nottingham Forest target Jonathan Tah is eyeing a move to the Premier League and has hired super-agent Pini Zahavi seemingly in an attempt to force his way out of Bayer Leverkusen, according to Kicker

Think of Zahavi as football’s answer to Winston Wolf. If you want something sorted, call him up and let him work. Robert Lewandowski, when deciding that his future lay away from Bayern Munich, enlisted the help of Zahavi and found himself donning the blue and red of Barcelona soon after.

David Alaba, Kicker say, did something similar when his own future at the Allianz Arena became somewhat foggy. The Austria superstar signed a long-term deal with Real Madrid 14 months later.

Reports suggesting that Jonathan Tah will now be represented by one of world football’s most influential agents, then, means the smart money should be on the powerhouse centre-half saying his goodbyes to Bayer Leverkusen sooner rather than later.

Nottingham Forest like Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah

Tah, Kicker add, is aiming for the Premier League. Nottingham Forest tried to sign the 16-time Germany international on loan in January. Tah, at the time, had reservations about joining a club in the midst of a relegation battle.

If Forest stave off relegation before renewing their interest, it would be interesting to see how Tah responds. Clearly, he wants a club stable and secure in the Premier League.

The way things are going at the City Ground right now – just one top-flight defeat since late-October – Nottingham Forest may be negotiating from a position of strength when looking to add further strength to an increasingly impressive squad next summer.

Tah’s development has plateaued in recent times. He is no longer a guaranteed starter under former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern star Xabi Alonso at the Bay Arena. In fact, Tah has started only started three of the last seven Bundesliga games.

The former Hamburg ace, capped 16 times by Germany, feels like a player in need of a fresh start. A change of scenery. Nottingham Forest can offer him that. The Premier League is potentially the ideal environment for a towering centre-half renowned for his physicality and aerial prowess.
