Borussia Dortmund captain Marco Reus has expressed his excitement over playing against Rangers tonight in front of a sold-out Ibrox crowd.
Speaking to the press via GGFN ahead of tonight’s massive second leg UEFA Europa League knockout play-off, the Bundesliga attacker admitted that he is looking forward to playing in Glasgow tonight in a full stadium.
Germany is yet to fully lift Covid-19 restrictions meaning the Bundesliga season has largely been played in half-empty stadiums, something that has not affected Scotland for the majority of the campaign.
With Ibrox expected to be 50,000 strong tonight, the Dortmund legend is revelling in the thought of playing against Rangers in a packed house, with the German giants currently 4-2 down to the reigning Scottish champions.
Dortmund secured a massive 6-0 win at home against Borussia Monchengladbach over the weekend, and this result could spur the Bundesliga side to an incredible comeback against Rangers, with Reus excited for the occasion.
The Dortmund captain said: “We’re really looking forward to it. We can expect a heated atmosphere but that can also be a big motivator for us. We know the crowd can have a big impact. There’s nothing better than playing in front for and against 50,000 fans.”

With Reus seemingly buzzing about playing in front of a full stadium, Rangers supporters will likely bring their A-game in trying to put Dortmund off in what could be one of the Scottish club’s most important fixtures of the season.
Proceeding to the Round of 16 of the Europa League will be a massive achievement for the club, and beating Dortmund, who many expected to be favourites for the competition, will be a huge morale boost for Rangers in the remaining months of the season.
