Mateusz Klich expects Leeds United face a ‘massive’ test at Liverpool on Wednesday night, but has told the Whites’ website any suggestions of easy Premier League games are wrong.

The Poland midfielder rubbishes claims Marcelo Bielsa’s side face a tougher test at Anfield than away to Burnley, for example. Leeds drew 1-1 at Turf Moor in August for one of 10-points claimed away from Elland Road so far. Only six sides have fewer points on the road.

Instead, Klich believes all English top-flight sides present a challenge that warrants respect when Leeds travel. Away games have proven difficult for the West Yorkshire outfit so far this term with just two wins. They have also taken four draws, but have suffered six defeats.

Liverpool will be sure to threaten Leeds when Bielsa takes his side to Anfield in midweek. Only Manchester City (31) have taken more points than the Reds (30) on home soil this season. Jurgen Klopp’s side are also unbeaten after 12 games and have the best defence.

The Merseysiders have allowed a league-low seven goals over their fixtures at Anfield this season. Leeds, meanwhile, have allowed a league-high 29 goals when playing on the road.

Leeds star Klich rubbishes ‘not right’ fan assumptions on away day challenges

Liverpool beating Leeds at Anfield will see Klich and co remain on the cusp of the relegation scrap. Bielsa’s men currently sit five-points from the drop zone, which Watford will look to bring down to two when they host Crystal Palace at Vicarage Road on Wednesday night.

Klich is fully aware of the challenge Klopp’s side will present during the Whites’ visit to the Reds. But he expects nothing else in the Premier League and rubbishes claims otherwise.

“It is another tough game and then we have Tottenham, but there are no easy games in the Premier League,” Klich said. “If someone, for example, thinks playing Burnley away is way easier than playing Liverpool, it is not right.

“They are all difficult games in the Premier League and all difficult opponents. This is going to be massive for our fans and us, I personally love playing in big games and I can’t wait.”
