Liverpool are long-time admirers of Sebastian Szymanski but the Poland international won’t be joining the Premier League giants this summer, former Dynamo Moscow director Roman Oreshchuk tells OSport TV.
Liverpool spent much of the last few months being linked with a Polish playmaker by the name of Kacper Kozlowski.
But Kozlowski is not the first fresh-faced Pole to have registered on Liverpool’s radar.
According to Polska Times, the 2020 Champions League winners watched Szymanski like a hawk during his formative years at Legia Warsaw.
Now 22 years of age – and with a goal against Gareth Southgate’s England on his CV – it seems that Szymanski is ready to take the next step at last.
“I think Szymanski will leave in the summer,” says Oresghcuk, who brought the gifted attacking midfielder to Dynamo in 2019.
“If there is a decent offer from a good club, I think he will leave. I think he’s on the shortlist of many clubs in the top five (European leagues).”
Will Sebastian Szymanski end up at Liverpool eventually?

Oreshchuk does not believe that Szymanski is ready for a club the size of Liverpool, however.
Even if an impressive tally of 11 goals and assists from just 16 league games does paint the picture of a midfielder capable of slotting into Jurgen Klopp’s free-scoring side.
“They are not interested at Barcelona and Real Madrid, that’s for sure,” Oreshchuk adds. “And not in Manchester or Liverpool.
“But, believe me, there is interest from big clubs.”
Szymanski’s agent admits to Championat that, next summer, his client will consider a move away from Moscow.
Dynamo Moscow reportedly rejected a £17 million bid from and as-yet unnamed Premier League club a few weeks ago (Gol24).
Given that they’ve snapped up three of Poland’s brightest talents – Kozlowski, Jakub Moder and Michal Karbownik – few will be surprised if it turns out Brighton are the mystery suitor.
