Bukayo Saka has been speaking about Arsenal teammate Gabriel Jesus after hearing about the Brazil World Cup star’s injury.
What’s the story?
Well, the Arsenal No.9 has been ruled out of the remaining World Cup games after suffering an injury to his right knee, and has since undergone an MRI scan.
There have been rumours – mainly from Sportv – that Jesus could miss three months of action as a result of the injury, although there is yet to be an official announcement about the damage.
Nevertheless, Saka has been in contact with his fellow Gunner, and told the media that it is “not good news” after speaking to the Brazil international.

As quoted by Football London, the England international said: “He’s a very, very, very important player for us. I think he’s going to go and see the doctor and see what he needs to do. It’s not good news when I heard that.”
The £33,000-a-week man clearly sounds worried about the 25-year-old’s injury, and he has every right to be.
Arsenal & Saka need Jesus
The north Londoners currently find themselves five points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League under Mikel Arteta, and Jesus has been a huge part of their success.
In 14 Premier League appearances, the South American has scored five goals, while also providing six assists, which is a fantastic return.
However, that is not all. Jesus makes a number of selfless runs to drag defenders all over the place, which helps Saka – and Gabriel Martinelli – exploit the space in behind.
Of course, Eddie Nketiah is an excellent backup option, but it remains to be seen if the England Under-21 international will have the same impact as Jesus.
Hopefully, the Brazilian’s injury is not as bad as first feared, and he can play an important role for Arsenal in 2023.
