Gary Neville has said on Sky Sports Premier League (7:10pm, December 17, 2021) that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will have to deal with the Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang situation every single week.

The Sky Sports pundit has said on Monday Night Football that Arteta will be asked about Aubameyang at every single press conference.

The Gabon international striker is out of the team at the moment after a disciplinary breach.

Arsenal are winning matches and scoring lots of goals without Aubameyang.

However, former Manchester United star Neville believes that the situation about Aubameyang will hang over Arsenal and Arteta for a while.

Neville said: “Obviously the Aubameyang situation is there. It’s not going to go away quickly, I don’t think, and it will hang at every single Mikel Arteta’s press conferences.”

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – Mikel Arteta situation

In our opinion, Neville is right.

We do not think that the situation with Aubameyang is going to be resolved anytime soon.

Now, of course, things are rosy for Arsenal at the moment.

The Gunners are winning matches and are fourth in the Premier League table.

However, this is a very young Arsenal side, and there are bound to be bad results at some point.

Questions will then be asked whether Arteta should bring Aubameyang back into the team.

In our view, having Aubameyang as an option in the squad is not a bad idea.

After all, the striker is a senior player who has a very good record in the Premier League in his career.
