Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told the club’s official website that he does not want the Fenway Sports Group (FSG) to sell Naby Keita in the summer transfer window.
Klopp has said that he will not sell any Liverpool players without finding a replacement first.
The Liverpool manager has stressed that he does not want FSG to sell the the 27-year-old Guinea international midfielder in the summer transfer window.
90min reported last week that Keita is unhappy at Liverpool due to lack of regular playing time.
The report added that Liverpool have told the midfielder – described as “an exceptional footballer” by Klopp in The Mirror in March 2022 – that he will not leave, and that they plan to hold talks with him over a new deal.

When asked if he would accept if FSG wanted to sell Keita, Klopp told Liverpool’s official website: “And not replace him? No, that’s not possible, of course not. But it’s not the plan.
“We are not dumb that we think a player can go and we don’t replace him. No, there’s no chance. So, Naby will not go but if he would – what he will not do – there must be a replacement, of course.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool defensive midfielder Fabinho has praised his teammate Harvey Elliott.
Fabinho told The Liverpool Echo: “Harvey, he is hungry to show his potential, show his talent so every player who came in the team wants to stay in the team, play good football, to show that they deserve this place so this is not a problem for me. For the manager I think it is not a problem as well.”
Anfield stay
In our view, Liverpool are not going to sell Naby Keita so late in the summer transfer window.
Now, of course, we know that money talks, and if the Reds get a ridiculously good offer, then they could be tempted to cash in on the 27-year-old central midfielder.
However, Klopp’s comments suggest that he does not want to see Keita leave, and we think that the midfielder will stay at Anfield for this season.
