Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on social media have been reacting after they were linked with a move for Dean Henderson by the Manchester Evening News.
What’s the story with Henderson?
Tottenham are reportedly monitoring Henderson with a view to bringing him to the club in the summer of 2022.
It sounds as though Henderson won’t be allowed to leave in January as Ralf Rangnick reportedly wants to have three quality goalkeepers available to him at Manchester United, so a summer move may be on the cards.
Interestingly, that lines up perfectly with the expiry of Hugo Lloris’ contract, and Spurs could well look at the England international as a possible replacement.
Great fit
Henderson would be a great fit at Tottenham, especially if the rumours of Antonio Conte wanting a homegrown goalkeeper are true.
Spurs have also been linked with Jordan Pickford, but you have to imagine that the Everton number one would be substantially more expensive than Henderson. After all, he’s one of the first names on the teamsheet for the Toffees, while Henderson can barely get a game at Old Trafford.
Henderson is a fantastic stopper. He showed that during his loan spell with Sheffield United, and he’s even earned himself a spot in the England team.
