Some Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard’s comments about Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool got the better of Villa 1-0 at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday.

Mo Salah scored the only goal of the game midway through the second half.

It came from the penalty spot.

Villa central defender Tyrone Mings was adjudged to have brought down Salah.

Villa manager Gerrard, a Liverpool legend, believes that it was a harsh decision.

The Express quote Gerrard as saying: “”Ultimately the game has been decided by a penalty. There were two penalty incidents in the game, Liverpool got theirs – if you look at that one, Salah fouls Mings first.”

Liverpool fans react

As you can see from the tweets below, Liverpool fans do not agree with Gerrard’s views.

Well, some of them anyway.

Now, we know how much Liverpool fans love Gerrard and how much the Englishman loves Liverpool.

However, they were rivals on Saturday.

And, as opposition managers often do, Gerrard complained about decisions going against his side.

In our opinion, there is nothing wrong with that.

Villa did make it hard for Liverpool, but on the balance of play, Jurgen Klopp’s side were better over the course of the 90 minutes at Anfield.
