Speaking on Sky Sports, Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville have been getting into it after Mino Raiola’s comments about Erling Haaland’s future.
Raiola has been speaking about the Norwegian and a potential summer move for the striker, naming four clubs that the attacker could move to.
Interestingly Raiola named Manchester City as a potential destination while omitting Manchester United, and Carragher was quick to note that the agent hadn’t even considered United.
However, Neville hit back, stating that Liverpool also weren’t in the conversation, but Carragher made a great point about the Reds not needing a new striker right now.
What’s been said about Haaland?
Carragher and Neville had a bit of a spat over Raiola’s comments.
“Manchester United weren’t mentioned, he mentioned Man City, so are they now the big dogs in Manchester?”
“Were Liverpool mentioned?” Neville responded, seemingly trying to make a point about Liverpool also not being amongst the truly elite European superpowers.
“No, but we don’t need him. We’re fine, you’ve got two 36-year-olds up front!” Carragher concluded.

Don’t need him
Carragher is absolutely right, Liverpool don’t need Erling Haaland right now, but surely they’d want him if a deal was possible.
The striker is genuinely one of the best footballers on the planet, and with his release clause coming into effect this summer, he’ll be available for a bargain fee.
Liverpool may be happy with Diogo Jota, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino as their attacking options, but it has to be said that Haaland would improve that frontline.
However, as Carragher says, the Reds aren’t desperate for an attacker, so not signing Haaland isn’t the end of the world. Meanwhile, Manchester United have an ageing attack that will need replenishing in the not so distant future.
