Liverpool have been frustrated in their attempts to begin a rebuild under Arne Slot and it appears the Spanish media are enjoying it.
Arne Slot was appointed as manager of Liverpool this summer with the Dutchman the man chosen to replace Jurgen Klopp at the helm at Anfield.
However, this summer was meant to be a rebuild for the Merseyside club but Liverpool have yet to make a significant addition to their team during the transfer window.
The closest the Reds came to making a signing was Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad. However, HITC reported that Zubimendi snubbed Liverpool after the Reds had initially been given some encouragement that a deal for the Spaniard was possible.

Spanish press react to Liverpool’s failed Martin Zubimendi deal
Liverpool have been struggling to bring in some of the world’s best players to add to their midfield department.
Zubimendi joins the list, alongside Jude Bellingham, Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, of players who Liverpool have not been able to bring to Anfield.
It appears that prominent Spanish outlet Diario AS are taking the mickey out of Liverpool’s situation with a headline from the website stating that ‘nobody wants to join Liverpool’
“The Reds have had several transfer markets, both summer and winter, receiving the same answer from some of the players who have pretended: ‘No’, AS writes.
“Liverpool, immersed for several years in the search for a pivot, especially after the departure of Fabinho, have come up against the “noes” of Aurélien Tchouameni, Moisés Caicedo or Roméo Lavia.”
Liverpool struggling to attract world-class talent to Anfield
Another name Liverpool were ‘working hard’ on was Lille centre-back Leny Yoro but the French teenager decided to move to Manchester United this summer.
Whilst the Reds may struggle to compete with Real Madrid this summer, Liverpool should not struggle to attract players away from United with the Red Devils missing out on Champions League football this season.
Liverpool still have two weeks to rectify this poor transfer window but time is running out for Slot and the decisionmakers at Anfield to turn this summer around as the club hope to compete in the Premier League title race.
