Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after Kristof Terreur claimed that Albert Samuel Lokonga is set to arrive in a matter of days.

Speaking on The Football Terrace, the Belgian journalist said that the Gunners expect to complete the signing of the 21-year-old.

However, Lokonga is on holiday, so Terreur states that the speed of the deal depends on when he returns from his break.

However, with no competition for his signature, Terreur makes it sound like Arsenal are happy to be patient, and are in a confident mood.

Understandably, the Arsenal fans on Twitter are delighted after hearing this news.

It’s always a source of satisfaction to see your side complete business early in the window, rather than scramble around on Deadline Day in a panic.

In Lokonga, Edu and Mikel Arteta have identified someone who is far from a household name, but looks to have real potential.

Rated at £18 million, he seems a real gem.

Well, for one, he’s already a leader.

Lokonga wore the captain’s armband for Anderlecht from November onwards, after Vincent Kompany handed him the honour.

The midfielder is also on Belgium’s EURO 2020 standby list.

That might not sound amazing, but given the talent Roberto Martínez has at his disposal, that can somewhat be considered an achievement in itself.

Lokonga has also racked up 78 senior appearances already in his short career, so he’s an experienced head with plenty of room for growth.

Arsenal fans have every right to be excited.

Let’s see what they’ve been saying about Terreur’s update on Twitter…
