Mikel Arteta has reportedly introduced a new ritual to Arsenal’s London Colney training ground involving former manager and club legend Arsene Wenger.
As per the Athletic, players arriving at the training ground now high five a large image of the French manager with his hand raised near the entrance of the complex.
Similar traditions have been instilled around other clubs around England. With Liverpool famously having a ‘This is Anfield’ poster in the tunnel which is touched by players before kick-off.
And now, Arsenal have their own similar ritual at their training ground. With the Gunners currently in fine form, it appears this Wenger superstition is working for Arteta.
Indeed, the Gunners have a chance to break into the top-four this afternoon if they can claim a big win at home to Watford. Arteta’s side are currently unbeaten in their last nine matches in all competitions.
For the first time in a long time, Arteta’s Arsenal look strong and share some qualities from Wenger’s former sides. And this new tradition at the training ground is something supporters approve of.
