Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to speculation linking Rafael Benitez with the managerial job at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

According to The Daily Mail, former Liverpool boss Benitez is one of the managerial candidates for Spurs.

The London Evening Standard reported last week that the former Chelsea interim-manager would consider taking charge of Tottenham.

Tottenham sacked Jose Mourinho as the first-team head coach just days before the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City and appointed Ryan Mason in charge of the side until the end of the season.

Benitez is without a managerial job at the moment, having left Chinese club Dalian Professional in January.

The Spaniard is a very experienced manager who has been in charge of Valencia, Liverpool and Newcastle United among other clubs.

However, the football that Benitez’s teams play is quite conservative, and one of the reasons why some Spurs fans were not happy under Mourinho was the defensive football they had to watch.

Some Tottenham fans have given their take on speculation that Benitez is a candidate for the managerial role.

Below are some of the best comments:

Meanwhile, Tottenham interim-manager Ryan Mason has said that Dele Alli has been doing well in training in recent days.

The England international midfielder started for Spurs in their win against Sheffield United in the Premier League on Sunday.

Mason told BBC Sport about Alli: “Dele Alli had an excellent attitude. He trained his way into the team. He had a really good training week. He gave 100% and had some moments.”
