Michael Brown said on Sky Sports Premier League (7:05pm, May 2, 2021) that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli has changed now.
The former Tottenham midfielder, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, believes that Alli has lost that edge and spice that made him so good.
Brown has said that he saw how talented the Tottenham midfielder is when he played against him, and believes that he needs to go back to his old self and return to his best.
The Englishman said about Alli on Sky Sports Premier League (7:05pm, May 2, 2021): “I have played against him when I was finishing my career. He had that little bit of spice, a little bid of edge to his game, and it went away. He is quite nice, he has changed, but at 25 now he has got to demand and play regularly.”
Dele Alli’s struggles
Although many will say that Alli’s struggles started with Jose Mourinho, the fact of the matter is that the Tottenham star was not at his best during the final months of Mauricio Pochettino’s time at the North London club.
According to WhoScored, the 25-year-old England international midfielder has made three starts and eight substitute appearances in the Premier League and scored two goals and provided three assists in eight Europa League games for Spurs this season.

During the 2019-20 campaign, Alli made 21 starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League for Tottenham, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
The former Milton Keynes Dons star also made seven appearances in the Champions League for Spurs in 2019-20, scoring one goal and providing one assist in the process, according to WhoScored.
Alli is still only 25, and the Spurs star can still get back to his best. What the English midfielder needs is a manager who will show him some love and will give him an extended run in the team.
