Dean Jones has told the Football Terrace that there is ’no chance’ Liverpool will part ways with Jordan Henderson this summer.

In a perhaps surprise turn of events, rumours have been surfacing that the Liverpool captain could leave when his contract expires in two years time, as reported by the Athletic.

And amazingly enough, there have also been rumours that Henderson could possibly head for the exit door this summer.

But Eurosport journalist, Jones, dismissed any worry about the £16m Liverpool man (Mirror) heading for the exit door before September, which will no doubt delight supporters.

“In terms of Henderson, he is not going to leave in this window,” said Jones.

“There’s no chance Liverpool are going to let him leave at the same time as Wijnaldum’s gone because your whole team starts to fall apart.

“I understand the concern and he deserves more respect than this – Liverpool have got no qualms about players leaving on free transfers if they feel they have got the most value out of that player. “

Given the type of character Henderson is, there’s no way he will allow this to affect him, nor leave this summer.

There does seem to be some disagreement over the extension of his current deal and it is raising questions from supporters.

The former Sunderland man just turned 31 and he has plenty more left in the tank.

It just seems as though those in the Anfield boardroom aren’t willing to put the amount of petrol he wants, as one of Liverpool’s engine rooms might be in the final few stretches of his Merseyside career.
