Ray Parlour has stated that it would be a ‘nightmare’ for Liverpool if they had to sell Sadio Mane this summer, as he told talkSPORT.

Liverpool fans have found that there has been a lot of talk about the future of their stars players this season, with Mane and Mo Salah yet to sign new deals.

None look closer to putting pen-to-paper on a new deal at Anfield, although, Salah did make it clear that he will be at Liverpool next season.

The same can’t be said for Mane, who is attracting interest from Bayern Munich, and as the days progress, it seems more likely that he will head for the exit door.

If Mane does leave Merseyside this summer, then there’s no doubt it would be a body blow to the club, especially because of what he has done in recent years.

Arsenal legend Parlour described the transfer situation for the Reds as a ‘nightmare’ because they now have a big call to make with Mane’s contract expiring next summer.

“Liverpool, will they lose Mane,” questioned Parlour. “It would be a massive loss if they lost Mane.

“It would be a nightmare for them because he is such an important player for them, as much as Salah is.”

MANE A CLUB LEGEND AND BEYOND…BUT LIVERPOOL SHOULD SELL

There’s no doubt that Mane is a club legend, one of the greatest Liverpool players ever and someone who probably gets into the club’s greatest-ever XI.

But, at the end of the day, this is about Liverpool and Mane, so if he doesn’t sign a new contract, then they should sell him this summer.

It doesn’t seem as though the Senegal star will either leave this summer or on a free next summer, so from that aspect, they can get a fee for him now, re-invest, refresh and help push the club forward again.

Of course, it’s not going to be easy finding a replacement because the volume of goals and the consistent levels the Africa Cup of Nations winning star has hit are on remarkable levels.
