It’s all eyes on the weather for England v Norway, as the 2026 World Cup quarter-final clash is expected to be played in extreme heat.
Miami is throwing a literal temper tantrum ahead of England v Norway, turning the quarter-final into a potential humid, lightning-filled waiting game.
The forecast for kick-off suggests the temperatures could feel like 44 degrees inside the stadium, but the actual temperature is predicted to be 33 degrees. And there is a chance of storms around the game, which sparked fears of a potential postponement, which is extremely unlikely.
After all, there were storms prior to the Mexico clash, as well as hotter temperatures in other matches at the 2026 World Cup, so it’s merely just precautions and laying down all options.
While fans panic about potential delays, England insists their sweaty pre-camp has them ready.

Nico O’Reilly says England are ready for the weather conditions
Nico O’Reilly has silenced any fears that England won’t be prepared for the conditions at the Miami Stadium for the quarter-final clash.
Shared by Henry Winters on X, O’Reilly is confident that England are more than ready to tackle the heat, having held their pre-camp over in Florida.
“Yeah, it’s gonna be hot. Up to now we’ve played in cool conditions I’d say, but yeah we’re ready for it. We had our pre-camp over there, so I think we will climatize well to the weather. And I’ve seen there maybe could be storms or something like that, so we will see.”
Norway have some issues of their own to deal with
According to Stale Solbakken, his Norway team have been battling illness in the camp.
“We’ve really only had Jorgen who has had a fever. But then there’s been a bit of coughing and rasping evenly, scattered throughout.
“There’s air conditioning, flights, changing rooms and all that. We’re over 50 people so it would be strange if one or the other didn’t come.”
Jorgen Strand Larsen and Marcus Holmgren Pedersen have already missed games due to illness, but who knows, this could even be a bit of mind games ahead of Saturday.
