As Vincent Kompany continually gets linked with the Tottenham Hotspur manager job, Gabby Agbonlahor has encouraged him to reject the opportunity.

Ray Parlour recently suggested the Burnley boss to do the same instead of making his way to N17 to replace Antonio Conte.

While a host of Tottenham Hotspur fans may be pining for Vincent Kompany to become their manager, Gabby Agbonlahor has encouraged him to snub the vacancy.

Kompany is one of the most promising up-and-coming managers in the game, making the Clarets the quickest team to gain promotion with seven Championship games to spare.

Pundit duo Johan Boskamp and Ander van der Meyde referred to the Belgian as a ‘world-beater’ and emphasised that he is a ‘big name’ in the managerial scene outside England.

As many question whether Vincent Kompany will actually accept the Tottenham manager job, Gabby Agbonlahor has encouraged him to stay at Turf Moor.

“I can see why they’re looking at Kompany but if I was Kompany, I’d say no. Capital letters, no. He’s got Burnley into the Premier League. Give it a go with Burnley”, he told talkSPORT.

“And even if he doesn’t keep Burnley up, what he’s done with them in the Championship, he’s still going to attract Premier League jobs, Vincent Kompany. The way Spurs are at the moment as a club, why would you touch that? Why would you leave Burnley?

“He could, in the summer bring in the right players and have a good go with Burnley, and shock the Premier League. You know, like Sheffield United did, Leeds did. They could do that with Burnley.”

Vincent Kompany could likely agree with Gabby Agbonlahor and test himself out as a manager out Burnley instead of Tottenham in the Premier League come the 2023/2024 season.
