Ray Parlour thinks Vincent Kompany should snub any manager offers from Tottenham Hotspur and stay at Burnley after their promotion to the Premier League.
The Arsenal legend stated that Vincent Kompany, who has been spoken about for the Tottenham manager’s job, is still ‘learning his trade’ at Turf Moor and he has done a ‘brilliant’ job.
Sooner or rather than later, Pep Guardiola will no longer be the Manchester City manager, and if Vincent Kompany continues on his current road, then he is someone who will be on the club’s list.

After hanging up his boots, the 37-year-old took the reigns at Anderlecht in his homeland and he helped refresh the club after a few rocky periods.
That gig landed him on the doorstep of relegated Burnley, who themselves needed a refresh after a number of senior players departed, including Nick Pope to Newcastle United.
From the change in style to the belief within the club, Kompany has done a stellar job, but Parlour thinks he needs to stay put, as he told talkSPORT Breakfast (11/04/23).
“If I was him, I would stay where he is,” said Parlour. “Someone has given him an opportunity to be a manager. I think he has done a great job.
“Four or five years down the line. I am sure when Pep Guardiola says ‘That’s it, I am not being manager anymore’. I am sure, he will then be the Manchester City manager. He will be the Man City manager, I should imagine.
“But, at the moment, he is learning his trade still. He has been at a Burnley team that’s brilliant.
“I would stay where he is. I know he’s been linked to Spurs and to quite a few clubs. But just stay where you are. Enjoy it and you can become a Burnley legend.”

KOMPANY SHOULD CONTINUE TO BUILD
The likes of Fulham and Brentford are prime examples this season that a newly-promoted side, or a recently promoted one, can compete in the top ten of the Premier League.
Yes, life will be tougher for Burnley next season, but it will be interesting to see how Kompany gets them to play against some of the best.
Rather than taking another jump in his manager career, trying to guide Burnley through the Premier League next season will and should be challenging enough.
