Emmanuel Petit has assured that Zinedine Zidane will not accept the Tottenham Hotspur manager job.

At the end of March, it was reported that Spurs were interested in bringing the three-time Champions League winner on board.

But it seems as if that would simply be a pipe dream for Tottenham Hotspur as Emmanuel Petit is confident that Zinedine Zidane will not become the club’s next manager.

In 2021, ex-Real Madrid midfielder Geremi told Radio Marca that the Frenchman was the ‘best coach in the world’ due to being the only manager not to just win successive Champions League titles but to do so thrice in a row.

But as Zidane has been out of work since 2021, he has been speculated with coming to the Premier League, which is yet to happen.

Now, Emmanuel Petit has said that Zinedine Zidane has no interest in becoming a manager in England, which rules out his chances of taking over the Tottenham job.

“Zidane, he won’t come. Definitely. Do you know why? Because he doesn’t speak English. That’s the truth because I have known Zidane for ages and the way he manages players, he’s very close, he always talks to his players”, he told Stadium Astro.

“So, he wants the communication being a priority. Very important for him, he doesn’t want someone to translate everything he has to say publicly.”

Never likely in the first place

As things stand, it would take a brave man to bet on Spurs getting top four.

Considering things have gone awry at Tottenham once again, a manager as high-profile as Zidane would likely reject any offer, irrespective of the logic put forward by Petit.

For Spurs to attract such big names in any case, they must find ways to make themselves an attractive proposition, which is simply not the case.
