A claim has been made that the agents of Vincent Kompany have contacted Daniel Levy over ensuring that he becomes the next Tottenham Hotspur manager.
Interestingly enough, it was only reported on Tuesday that the Burnley boss had told his colleagues that he had no intention to take over the Spurs job.
However, it seems Vincent Kompany and his agents have stepped up their efforts to secure the Tottenham Hotspur manager position.
Kompany agents get in touch with levy over Tottenham manager role
The Belgian coach’s stock is an all-time high, with his Clarets side having won the Championship while doing so in style.
Gone are the days when Burnley used to play a defensive style of football, as the 36-year-old’s side play champagne football.
As Tottenham have been on the lookout for a new manager since Antonio Conte’s departure, it seems Vincent Kompany and his agents have now presented themselves forward, as per journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

“The connection between Vincent Kompany and Tottenham is founded and was undertaken by the Wasserman agency in contact with Daniel Levy who likes his unifying profile and his brand image in England with a style of play that would suit Tottenham’s identity.”
“In case of arrival at Spurs, Vincent Kompany would arrive with his staff of 7 people and a hand on the transfer window. For the moment, Kompany focus on getting more than 100 points in #Championship with Burnley. VK was Chelsea’s plan B, if not [for Mauricio] Pochettino.”
HITC View: Spurs should still look elsewhere
While Tottenham and Daniel Levy, in particular would likely appreciate Vincent Kompany taking the statement of intent to get the job, he is simply too inexperienced a manager to be appointed at this stage.
Candidates like Julian Nagelsmann, Luis Enrique and Arne Slot are simply a lot more seasoned in comparison and have found themselves in a variety of scenarios to deal with the trials and tribulations at Spurs.
The club should bring in either of the three, or even look elsewhere as Kompany coming into N17 to change the club’s fortunes may prove to be an uncalculated risk.
