Jack Wilshere has suggested on talkSPORT (5:42pm, July 7, 2022) that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal may not be able to sign Youri Tielemans from Leicester City in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal linked with Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans
The former Arsenal midfielder believes that Tielemans, linked with a move to Mikel Arteta’s side in the summer transfer window, will want to play in the UEFA Champions League as the next step in his career.
Arsenal will play in the UEFA Europa League next season.
The Belgium international midfielder has already played in the Europa League with Leicester.
Well-known and well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano told GiveMeSport this week that Arsenal want to sign the £120,000-a-week (SalarySport) Belgium international midfielder and are in contact with his agent.
Tielemans, who cost Leicester £40 million in transfer fees (The Guardian), has been linked with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur as well.

Jack Wilshere’s verdict
Wilshere said about Tielemans on talkSPORT (5:42am, July 7, 2022): “He is a good player.
“I think he will want to test himself at one of the top clubs, play in the Champions League, and I think he is good enough to do that.
“He has played in the Europa League with Leicester, so next step is Champions League.”
Stats
Tielemans has scored 18 goals and created 23 big chances in 120 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The 25-year-old made 29 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for Leicester last season.
The Belgian scored six goals and gave four assists in those games.
