Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes could well prove to be spot on with a prediction made about Eddie Howe back in 2023.

Eddie Howe replaced Steve Bruce as manager of Newcastle United towards the end of 2021 and after a slow start on Tyneside, the former Bournemouth manager excelled at St James’ Park.

Qualification for the Champions League was achieved at the end of the 2022/23 campaign and the club would have another European campaign next season, but because of Manchester United winning the FA Cup, Newcastle will not be involved.

However, the good job done by Howe since his appointment at Newcastle, means that he may not be at the club for much longer.

Howe ‘open’ to job offer from England

Sources have told HITC that Howe would be open to becoming the new England manager following Gareth Southgate’s decision to step down from being manager of the Three Lions.

Southgate led England to their second final during his time in charge of the national team as they fell at the final hurdle against Spain, just as they did in the 2021 final against Italy.

Howe is understood to be one of the replacements potentially lined up by the Football Association to replace Southgate and he would certainly be a superb option.

Guimaraes could well be spot on with 2023 prediction

One key player who has been superb since he joined the club back in January of 2022 has been Bruno Guimaraes.

The Brazilian midfielder, back in 2023, was asked about just how good Howe is and the former Lyon star believed that he would be good enough for the national team.

“Newcastle will be in the Champions League every year in the future. I think about staying here for a long time. I want to make the club story as priority,” he said as per Fabrizio Romano.

“Eddie Howe will become the England manager one day, I’m sure.”

Howe has previous experience of building teams but the building blocks would certainly be in place for him to succeed at the national team.
