Newcastle United want Ismaila Sarr and have been boosted amid claims that Watford are open to offers for the winger this summer.

Newcastle already have one star winger in their ranks in Allan Saint-Maximin, who has actually been linked away himself.

The hope is that Saint-Maximin can stay and shine on the left flank with a new winger arriving down the right.

A number of names have been linked with that role, including Bayer Leverkusen star Moussa Diaby.

Yet there could be an enticing option closer to home with Newcastle keen on Watford ace Sarr.

Newcastle United want Ismaila Sarr

Sky Sports now report that Sarr is one player Newcastle have on their wish list to become their new right winger.

The report adds that Watford will consider ‘sensible offers’ for Sarr this summer as he enters the final two years of his contract.

Watford have again suffered relegation to the Championship and Sarr may not fancy another season in the second tier.

The Senegal winger will absolutely have suitors in the Premier League after five goals and two assists in 22 outings last term.

Sarr has been hailed as ‘frightening’ by former Watford teammate Ben Foster and provides real pace out wide.

Sarr is only 24 so there is still plenty of potential in him for the years to come.

Newcastle have likely seen that and may now try and tempt Watford into selling Sarr this summer.

Liverpool have been linked with Sarr too, but recent reports claim that they have concerns about his in-game intelligence.

That’s a bold claim but Liverpool seem to be backing away from Sarr, potentially allowing Newcastle to move in.

Diaby seems far more difficult to sign this summer whereas Watford being open to a summer deal means the Magpies have a real chance of a move.
