Tuesday’s top transfer stories involving Newcastle United.
Newcastle United have a new goalkeeper in their sights, according to The Daily Mail.
Former Bayern Munich man Lukas Raeder is said to be interesting the Magpies after leaving Vitoria Setubal this summer, although Borussia Dortmund are also credited with interest in the player.
Raeder has reportedly been training with Southampton, although no deal has yet been struck to sign him.
Lukas Raeder in action for Setubal
The Spaniard is said to be keen to leave the Hammers, although at what price his current employers would consider selling him remains to be seen.
But the 19-year-old insists he is in no rush to leave his current employers, despite the interest from Rafa Benitez’s side, as well as Everton, Sunderland, Birmingham City, Sheffield United and Crawley Town.
United owner Mike Ashley has reportedly been left unimpressed by the over-inflated prices his side have encountered so far, and is hoping they will drop towards the end of the transfer window.
Lucas Perez in action for Arsenal
And sticking with that topic, the agent of Arsenal attacker Lucas Perez has told Goal his client’s asking price should be lowered by more than £2.5 million.
Newcastle continue to be linked with a move for the Spaniard, whose representative Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle is quoted as saying: “Lucas wants to play but it depends on Arsenal.
“Arsenal want more (money). We want to leave but if there is no agreement he has a contract with Arsenal. The ideal price is about €12 million (£10.87 million).”
