A round-up of Friday’s transfer news involving Newcastle United.
Sam Clucas is ready to join the Hull City exodus – and Newcastle United are one of five clubs hoping to prise him away according to The Mirror [21 July, page 56].
Hull are said to want £12 million for the winger but it is claimed that will not scare off Rafa Benitez’s side, nor will it Stoke City, Swansea City, Leicester City and Burnley.
If the bookmakers’ latest odds are anything to go by, Newcastle are currently leading the race with odds of 1/3 to sign Clucas before September [Sky Bet] – with Swansea [16/1] their closest competitors.

Rolan is said to have twice visited Fulham’s training ground, but is aware of Benitez’s admiration of him and is gambling on an approach from the north east.
Reported Newcastle target Riza Durmisi delivered a relaxed response when asked about the speculation surrounding his future at Real Betis.

And finally, Magpies striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has also been discussing his future, telling The Chronicle: “I am happy here.
“We will see what has happened by the end of the transfer window but at the moment I am here and I will do everything to work hard like I always do.”
