It’s been another busy day of rumours involving Newcastle United.
Newcastle United remain on course to sign Eibar defender Florian Lejeune, according to the Basque side’s sporting director.
The Magpies have long been tipped to sign the Frenchman, and The Chronicle is quoting Fran Garagarza as saying: “Right now all the roads point to England. The English are showing their interest and we fear that it will not continue with us.”
There have, of course, been whispers of interest from elsewhere in the Premier League, however, and according to O Jogo, which is based across the Iberian peninsula in Portugal, Newcastle have yet another centre-back in mind.
It is claimed that Rafa Benitez is showing a keen interest in Benfica’s Lisandro Lopez, who could be allowed to leave the Estadio da Luz this summer.

Moving north now, to a player who does not appear to be St James’ Park bound in the near future. Toulouse president Louis Nicollin has told L’Equipe.”Only one player was leaving – Ryad Boudebouz.
“In the last month I have not received a single proposal. If he stays, nobody will complain.”
The winger, who scored 11 goals last season, had been linked with a move to Newcastle this summer.
On to outgoings, and Sky Sports is reporting that Magpies defender Lubomir Satka has agreed a deal with Slovakian side FC DAC 1904 with his contract up at the end of the month.
While Adam Armstrong looks to be off out on loan again, with Bolton Wanderers and Brentford showing an interest in the Newcastle product, according to The Chronicle.
Armstrong spent last season at Barnsley.
